Percona Monitoring and Management 2.32
On November 8, 2022, we released Percona Monitoring and Management 2.32 (PMM), an open source database monitoring, management, and observability solution for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
We are happy to announce that the Backup Management for MongoDB has reached General Availability and is no longer in Technical Preview.
This change comes with significant functionality enhancements and added UX improvements:
- Point-in-time recovery (PITR) restores for MongoDB backups: This enables you to restore Amazon S3-compatible backups from any checkpoint in the past.
- Local client storage: In addition to Amazon S3-compatible, we have now also enabled the Local Client location option, which saves backups on the remote folder mounted to PMM client host.
- Key UX improvements: You can now create on-demand and scheduled backups from the same window instead of using separate modals. In addition, we have added more icons and renamed tabs columns to better label the actions available behind important options.

Percona Distribution for MongoDB 6.0.2
On Monday, October 31, 2022, Percona Distribution for MongoDB 6.0.2 was released. It is a freely available MongoDB database alternative, giving you a single solution that combines enterprise components from the open source community, designed and tested to work together. The aim of Percona Distribution for MongoDB is to enable you to run and operate your MongoDB efficiently with the data being consistently backed up. Release highlights include Data-at-rest encryption using the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) is generally available enabling you to use it in your production environment, and $backupCursor and $backupCursorExtended functionality is generally available, enabling your application developers to use it for building custom backup solutions.

Percona Distribution for MongoDB 4.2.23 was released on November 8, 2022. This release of Percona Distribution for MongoDB is based on Percona Server for MongoDB 4.2.23-23 and Percona Backup for MongoDB 2.0.2.

Percona Server for MongoDB 6.0.2-1
Percona Server for MongoDB 6.0.2-1 was released on October 31, 2022. We are pleased to announce the availability of Percona Server for MongoDB (PSMDB) 6.0.2-1 – the new major version of the source available, drop-in replacement of MongoDB 6.0 Community edition. A release highlight is that packages now include mongosh of the previous mongo shell. The previous legacy mongo shell was deprecated in MongoDB 5.0 and has been removed in version 6.0. Some older methods are unavailable or have been replaced with newer ones for the new mongosh. Please review any methods for compatibility.

Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.17-17
On November 10, Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.17-17 was released. It is an enhanced, source-available, and highly-scalable database that is a fully-compatible, drop-in replacement for MongoDB 4.4.17 Community Edition. It supports MongoDB 4.4.17 protocols and drivers. Release highlights include:
- Data-at-rest encryption using the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) is generally available enabling you to use it in your production environment
- $backupCursor and $backupCursorExtend aggregation stages functionality is generally available, enabling your application developers to use it for building custom backup solutions.

Percona Server for MongoDB 4.2.23-23
On November 8, 2022, we released Percona Server for MongoDB 4.2.23-23, a fully-compatible, drop-in replacement for MongoDB 4.2.23 Community Edition, supporting MongoDB 4.2.23 protocols and drivers. A release highlight is a fix for security vulnerability CVE-2022-3602 for Percona Server for MongoDB 4.2.21-21 and higher installed from tarballs on Ubuntu 22.04.
