Database Infrastructure Challenges
EveryMatrix, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing B2B iGaming software and solutions providers, supplies advanced platform technology, content, and services to global, tier-1 casino and sports betting operators and World Lottery Association lottery partners. The company — which serves more than 300 customers worldwide, including the North American market — has more than 850 employees in 12 countries. EveryMatrix has become the first iGaming supplier to be awarded World Lottery Association (WLA) Safer Gambling certification following a rigorous company-wide audit. EveryMatrix supports a highly modular, scalable, and compliant iGaming platform that enables operator customers to deliver the right service to their players based on the operator’s specific needs, existing in-house technology, and any specific capabilities their players demand.
Behind this platform, EveryMatrix relies on a mix of different open source software and related technologies to run its software. On the database side, the company has database instances that include MariaDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL deployed to meet specific application requirements. In order to maintain service levels and provide what operators need, the EveryMatrix team decided to look at approaches that could further improve management efficiency and reduce risk over time.
Enhancing Database Management with Percona’s Expertise
The EveryMatrix technology team explored various database management services that could take over responsibility for their database instances. The team chose Percona for its managed services expertise around MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL. The Percona team supports multiple open source database technologies, simplifying the approach for EveryMatrix around a critical element of its online service platform. EveryMatrix worked with Percona Managed Services for a set of the company’s databases. Percona complemented the existing skill set of the company’s in-house IT team and provided the necessary support. This was so successful that EveryMatrix decided to expand the number of servers supported with Percona after an initial four-month period, tripling the number of database servers.
Working with Percona
The Percona Managed Services team is now responsible for managing, updating, and maintaining EveryMatrix’s database servers running MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL. This includes ensuring that tasks, including backup, are implemented and tested successfully, as well as ensuring availability and security of the company’s database servers.
By partnering with Percona, EveryMatrix has expanded its resources around database management and reduced potential risk around issues with its database servers. This has simultaneously freed up the internal team to work on more innovative areas and new functionality. The combination of reliable database expertise and the proactive approach to finding and solving potential problems has seen EveryMatrix expand its work with Percona over time, helping EveryMatrix provide its customers with everything those customers need to support their players.
EveryMatrix Software places its trust in Percona Managed Services for its MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL databases. Teaming with Percona delivers on incredibly strict performance, availability, and resiliency measures. Working with Percona, EveryMatrix’s internal team has improved performance and dependability of the company’s iGaming software platform.
