Percona Distribution for MySQL (PS-Based variant) 8.0.27
March 2, 2022, saw the release of Percona Distribution for MySQL (PS-based variant) 8.0.27. It is a single solution with the best and most critical enterprise components from the MySQL open-source community, designed and tested to work together. The following list is some of the bug fixes for MySQL 8.0.27, provided by Oracle, and included in Percona Server for MySQL and Percona Distribution for MySQL:
- The
default_authentication_pluginis deprecated. Support for this plugin may be removed in future versions. Use theauthentication_policyvariable. - The
binaryoperator is deprecated. Support for this operator may be removed in future versions. UseCAST(... AS BINARY). - Fix for when a parent table initiates a cascading
SET NULLoperation on the child table, the virtual column can be set to NULL instead of the value derived from the parent table.

Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.27-18
Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.27-18 was released on March 2, 2022. It is a free, fully compatible, enhanced, and open source drop-in replacement for any MySQL database. Improvements in this release include the enablement of ZenFS functionality on standard Percona Server packages on Debian 11 and Ubuntu 20.04, implementation of a Slow Query Log Rotation and Expiration in Percona Server for MySQL 8.0., and a deprecation warning when using XtraDB changed page tracking.
